One Really Scary Guy

Here’s a speaker you can bring to your school to help with bullying. It’s THE SCARY GUY! Yes, folks, this guy promotes peace and acceptance. Scary Guy will come in to your school and uses the old “scared straight” method to try to make a difference. Take a look at this video.

What do you think? Is this an effective way to take on solving the bullying issue in the schools? He seems to admit to having been a bully. What has he done to make peace with the kids he bullied when he was younger? I’d be interested to know and  am interested to hear your thoughts on using the scared straight tactics to solve bullying.

  1. Good to see The Scary Guy’s work featured here.
However – One thing I would ask that you note is that he does NOT use the ‘Scared Straight’ method in any shape or form. His message is based in teaching people (children and adults) how NOT to become the negative energy in the first place – far removed from attempting to scare them out of it. In fact, a fundamental view expressed by Scary in his programmes is: “You don’t eliminate hate with hate!”
