Host, Alan Eisenberg, talks with Stand for the Silent co-founder, Kirk Smalley about the high cost of bullying others and what he has learned talking to kids about bullying through his program. Alan and Kirk also discuss the need for empathy in our society and how shows like “13 Reasons Why” need to tell the message that bullying can lead to suicide or even school violence.
Kirk and Laura Smalley are co-founders of Stand For The Silent. They founded Stand for the Silent after losing their 11-year-old son Ty to suicide due to being bullied for over two years. They have made it their mission to share their story in hopes that another child does not take their life due to bullying.
